Those were indeed gorgeous pictures.  I flew over some of this stuff today,
although on a more southerly route.  It makes you wonder where you'd go if
the engine crapped out!

It was a three day trip to China Lake, California for a two hour meeting.
One thing that I couldn't help but notice is that it is indeed really windy
out there, just like Jeff Scott said.  I'm still up for Dana's KR/RV (or is
it RV/KR?) Western trip, which we are now planning for late Summer or Fall
sometime.  I'm sure this discussion will heat up later in the year, and I'm
looking forward to a trip similar to what's described in the link above.

My trip wasn't a complete waste of time though, as I got to see the Airbus
380 take off from LAX last night.  I was drinking a dark beer in the bar at
the top of the Radisson (which is right between the two runways) when it
left.  It burned up a lot more runway than the fully loaded little guys that
left before and after it.  See
