Gents, We will be allowed to race in the Airventure Cup race under the "Sportsman" class. The class includes both VW and Corvair powered aircraft. The final class distinction, course and rules will be out soon. I will post them when I get them.
After the race was negotiated with the Airventure Cup folks, another air racing group called the Sport Air Racing League stated up. With Eric Whyte's (AV Cup organizer) permission, they are duplicating the class structure of the AV Cup, including the Sportsman class. For more info on them, check out http://www.sportairrace.org. They have 6 races scheduled. They have recently struck up a deal with US Air Race to participate in their events as well. See www.us-airrace.org. They are hosting 3 races that we can participate in.
