I know this subject has been going around the net for days and days and days,,, I have an ICOM handheld, with a cable I bought from Radio Shack, with an antena from a swap mart.... (aircraft swap mart) $5.00. 1 piece of alum foil around the mount area and I have a 150-200 mile range. Do not over think this thing, build it install it and fly it.....
