Netters today I had to go for a flight. I have been working all week and this was the only day that I was able to get to the airport. I got into snakebite and ATIS said that the wind was 090 @ 3 runway 4 in use. I got to the runway and ground said that the wind was 100 @ 16. What happened???? I called back and asked if it was steady for gusting, there answer was it appears steady. I decide to fly. I take off and the wind was not real bad. I flew towards Tucson for about 45 minutes. The clouds were low but not bad. I headed North and was going to BUZZ my Aunt and Uncle. They come out to AZ in the winter and say at a RV park. It is a great place to BUZZ them due to they park at the edge of the park and there is just Desert behind them. I can get real low and real close. After several passes I look to my left and see a B-17 heading right towards me. I stay low and straight. The B17 flew above and behind me. I circled around and came in behind it. It continued EAST, and I made a few more passes. The B17 returned and this time was in front of me. I turned and followed it again and he started a big circle to the right, I followed and was amazed at the view. I wish I had a camera, the B-17 was about 500ft AGL and the mountains behind, and we were both in a tight turn. WOW......Sorry about no photo. I got back to the airport and the wind was no 110 @ 18 on runway 4. Pucker,,,,, I made the approach and it seemed fine, I got down low and it felt real good, the touch down was smooth and no issues, I called ground after departing the runway and the winds were still @ 18 mph,,, I felt good about it.
