As an after though I'll throw in more thing.  Any time you have a shiny
surface, whether it is during the first step of hardshelling or during
the wet lay up of the glass, you probably have too much epoxy or
epoxy / micro mix and you should do additional squeegeeing to
remove the excess.  If the surface is a bit shiny on the first layer of
glass of a multi-layer lay up, dry brushing the next lay of glass in
place before adding additional epoxy should soak up the excess
epoxy.  Just make sure you add the next layer of glass before the
epoxy starts to cure.
