That will vary from one region to another here in the USA. Our region says they don't have the time. The going rate in this area is $500. One of our EAA members put his Kitfox on a trailer, drove it 120 miles to the FSDO parking lot and said "here it is, inspect it". It worked for him. Just 100 miles away and in the next region the FSDO will do the inspection. Our tax dollar at work. Go figure.............. Larry Flesner
