I attempted to go that route in 2003 when I completed my KR. I tried to get Lindbergh's Sprit of St.Louis number, NX-211. 211 is registered to the replica Spirit. I settled for 211LF. I wanted to go with the NX-211LF but got no support from the inspector, FAA, etc., mainly the DAR that signed off the KR. I suppose I could re-affix the N number to include the X- and see who either notices or insists that I change it. Larry Flesner
