Once you pull the chute, you are more-or-less at the mercy of the winds, and many other things. The save where the husband had a stroke or whatever and collapsed onto the controls only worked out because his wife waited until they were over open water. A BRS will NOT work in all situations, and the recommendation is to deploy at the slowest possible speed (given other considerations). Marc Lee Winnig
