Have you ever seen or can you imagine a wood deck on your patio that has 
been harshly pressure washed by someone who doesn't know what there doing or 
how to do it? That's what happens to the unprotected prop. The rain starts 
to tear away the little fibres on the leading edge and that degrades the 
prop airflow as it wears away.
