If that 500' stuff  isn't under an exception regarding the ends of a runway, 
at least half the airports in the US need to close down.  Even at lowly 
Moontown's grass strip, there's a road (and it's elevated four feet) right 
at the end of the runway.  I hate to land from that direction because once 
I'm established on final and getting close, I can't see the road anymore. 
So if some guy in a bread truck drives by at just the wrong time, I'm going 
to be eatin' muffins!  Guntersville will need to close, because there's a 
convenience store that you have to get within 200' of to land.  M38 will 
close, because the FBO office is only 100' off to the side of one of the 
runways.  The above ground gas tank is even closer.  There has to be an 
exception for the area near runways, or some kind of consideration given...
