NetHeads, Here's a little advice that's worth repeating. I'm still kicking myself for not going the extra mile to find colored Tefzel wire to wire my plane. That would have been a big help in keeping up with which wires go where. I was too lazy to look very hard, and just ordered all white stuff from Wicks. B&C Speciality not only has colored wire, but terminals, crowbar circuits, current limiters, ratcheting crimpers, fuse blocks, contactors, switches, breakers, and a lot of the other stuff you might need to wire your plane. This stuff is mostly near the bottom of their catalog, which is online at http://www.bandcspecialty.com/2006_Catalog.pdf . I never did a complete schematic for my plane other than some sketches of local areas. That's something else that would really keep things clear, years later.
In other news, I finally got my new laptop to accept the EIS data stream through a USB port (by remapping COM ports), so I now have XM weather, GPS, and EIS data collection on the laptop by plugging in a single USB cable. I'll do a detailed webpage on the setup over the weekend. Life is sweet. Dumb question regarding stadium TFRs...it appears as though as long as I'm above 3000' AGL (within a 3 mile radius), I can fly right over the middle of the Auburn stadium during Saturday's game without getting shot down. I don't care much about football, but I have a buddy who's a rabid Auburn fan that would love a picture of the packed stadium during a game from 3000'...
