All the ducts on my other planes have 45 degree cuts. 
The lips on the cowls are 45 also.  The dual exhaust
on my Luscombe is also cut at 45..  So, I honestly do
not know if the angle is perfect or if it is the
simplest way for them to cut them??!!  Will pass this
by a couple of engineering types and see what they say
on the matter..  Will let you know what I find out.
