Hello all, yes I am back....too bad if you don't like it :)

I have been watching some of these posts/ complaints, etc.. It's funny
most say they can never contact Jeanette. I just called this morning
and got her on the first try. We chatted awhile about some of the
"concerns" posted to the net.

Realizing she is basically a one person operation, she clearly cannot
provide the same type of support, say, a company like Zenith with a
hundred or so employees can provide. She does, however, follow up on
the calls and faxes she receives. Maybe just not as quickly as some
would like. For example, The gent from Aussie land complained about a
lack of response. Keep in mind we just had the KR Gathering in
Illinois. I believe his contact attempts were during this period.
Jeanette and her daughter attend regularly as they like being a part of
this event and it also gives her the opportunity to combine this event
with visiting family and friends from back east. The reason there has
been no response as of late is after the Gathering, Jeanette spent time
with family and then traveled the southern states with friends from
college. Today was her first day back in the office and she was busy
going through all the phone messages and faxes.

All faxes/ orders are taken care of and I would think anyone would be
hard pressed to prove they had never received an order or what was paid
for. Calls are returned as possible. Some leave disconnected numbers.
Some just don't answer. Are you able to always contact those whom you
call? I'm not saying RR or Jeanette is perfect by any means, none of us
are, but she does do a lot for being one person.

I asked about the KR2S evolution. There were 4 people involved in the
development. It was, in fact, a market driven change as people were
wanting more headroom/ legroom, etc and were already making their own
changes. She wanted to make sure the changes were safe for people and
of course for liability concerns. The KR2S was NOT a complete redesign.
The things that were changed, IE: firewall, tail, aluminum gear were all
designed and then a stress analysis performed. Kevin Kelly of KR-100
fame, who is an engineering architect, is the one who worked on the
design change for the firewall and gear. Roy Marsh's plane was used for
tooling of the 2S. He was a military pilot and performed all the flight
testing on the changes. The stress analysis was performed by Bill
Marcy(sp?). He has a firm which specializes in these type of
calculations. Rick Henson made all the tooling, plugs, and molds for
the 2S and new canopy design. While Lance has helped out for a number of
years before he started Lancair, he was not involved.

I found out an interesting thing about the wing skins and why the cost
difference. I am not really interested in hearing about if this is right
or wrong from our resident experts (and you know who you are) so don't
bother. Dan D's wing skins are a foam core with vinylester resin. This
is similar to the Glasair style wings. RR wing skins are actually a
honeycomb core with epoxy prepreg. They are also vacuum bagged but then
cured in an autoclave, similar to the Lancair style wings. The process
and materials are apparently a bit more costly.

On the contact front, if there is anyone from outside the states who
would like to order or contact RR, Jeanette has authorized me to accept
e-mails for her and then I will ensure she receives the information.

Hopefully this ends any speculation on the above subject. Feel free to
contact me if you have any questions, and please, do it direct so as not
to waste bandwidth on the net...
