I have a problem too. When I switch the second ignition, the tacho goes crazy. It gives nearly a double reading, with a shaky needle. Although it is wired to only one coil.
The funny thing is that it worked well before, when I had a partial dual ignition (two sets of ignition magnetic pick-ups (timing devices), but only one set of coils and spark plugs. Now that I have a full dual, I cannot read properly when both ignitions are active. Any advice on that? Mark: Do not put a jumper between them as it will short the two ignitions together. The safest way is to switch the tach wire when you switch the ignition. That requires a separate deck on the switch but is the safest and most reliable.
