Chris:

Ceconite is a long time favorite of tube and fabric builders. I used it  many 
years ago to recover my J-3. It does not have the strength that glass cloth  
with resin has. I would not use it. I remember using glue to fasten it to the  
tubing and then ironing it to shrink it to fit. Then the weave was filled, 
first  with seven coats of silver nitrate dope for UV protection, then seven 
coats of  clear nitrate dope. Until dry the nitrate dope is VERY explosive. 
Then 
the  fabric is ready for final paint.

There are materials available today that are far superior.
