I just picked a couple of posts from this thread to make a point:

The KR gathering has had a long tradition dating back to 1980 when the first
KR Gathering was held. It has been traditionally in the fall after Oshkosh.
I've got pictures from the 1989 KR Gathering that was held in Covington, TN
in OCTOBER. Man it was cold so everybody said why in the h*!! don't we have
this thing earlier???

Some of us old farts have not lost all of our memory yet and we still
remember the arguements for moving to the current tradition. As for the
idea of having only those at the Gathering decide where to hold the next
one, I for one am in complete agreement. My first KR Gathering was in
Jenks, OK, hosted by Dan Deihl. It was some time between 1987 and 1988 I
can't find the pictures to prove it right now. It was so long ago that
Marty Roberts had a VW in his KR. There are many members of the KR family
that I only see at the Gathering. It is great to come back together year
after year and see old friends.

Those that continue to support the KR over time should be the one's that get
to vote. If you have not made the commitment to attend the KR Gathering you
haven't earned the right to decide the KR family's future. This year there
are 90 pre-registered attendees for the KR Gathering from around the world.
There are also 24 KR's pre-registered that will attempt to beat the weather.

Our current tradition is looking to have a record breaking event this year
in people attendance as well as flying KRs. Oh yeah, just remember,
everything I say might be wrong? No flames intended here so don't get your
boxers in a wad. I'm just trying to give our KR Gathering traditions some
perspective and show the path we took to get where we are now. Change is
good but not for it's own sake.

If you want to change the path of the KR Gathering future the way is clear,
convince those supporting it now that your idea is better. The polls close
in 11 days so you better get your marketing team moving!
