I have been pricing these lately, and they sell one for Northern and one for
Southern hemi.  They must know more than I do about this, so I figure there
is a good reason for it.  Maybe it is just the deviation factor that is
different and they build some of it into the compass.  I think Colin
mentioned that.

I can not for the life of me understand why anyone would think the south
pole of
the magnet on the compass card would suddenly point south because you
crossed
the Equator.  That would require the south pole of the magnet on the compass
card to suddenly change polarity.  I do not see how that is possible.

If  my reasoning is wrong, please set me straight and prove it.
