NetHeads, On Saturday we "real-live KR pilots" got together at Jones' hangar to grill some Brats and burgers, but first we did a little flying. I offered to take Bob Glidden up with me and let him fly it, and just to show you what a brave guy he is, he took me up on it! The photo at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/flights/060725142m.jpg doesn't do it justice, but I think he his attitude adjustment was sucessful. He said he expected to have to chase the controls and really stay on top of it, but it just went where you wanted it to, with minimum input. No PIO's for this guy. Maybe he'll relate his impression when he gets back. He's wearing earplugs because I didn't bring my intercom or extra headsets.
I'm installing a built-in Flightcom ENRI intercom, and I plan to take up Marty Roberts' slack at the Gathering this year. Seeing the conversion in Glidden has me primed to stoke up some more builders. Unfortunately, anybody taller than me will have to visit the guillotine first...until I get around to dropping the seat another inch, or will have to go headset-less like Bob did, which actually worked out OK. I have the top off the plane while I do the intercom, add a front bulkhead for the fiberglass spinner, and a whole bunch of other "under-the_hood" changes, most of which involve cleaning up a few things, now that I'm getting closer to a "final" panel setup...
