Hi Before anyone considers an open cockpit please read the accidents report that Mark collated at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/KRaccidents.doc (just search the document for "canopy"). The are 4 accident from canopies coming open in flight, 3 are Fatal. It appears that aerodynamics to the tail feathers may be interrupted. With the right windshield it may be OK, but not for me :-)
