Chuck,
Welcome to the KR family. Glad to have you on board. The tail draggers
with retracts are the ones which are prone to collapse. You need to
make absolutely sure the locking mechanism is in pristine condition. I
would highly recommend converting to fixed gear. As far as nose wheel
retracts, I know of only one other KR which has a retractable nose gear
and that is John Scaffer's KR2. You stated you have already converted
the nose gear to fixed and that is good, now just fix the mains. Are you
going to be at the Mini KR Gathering and AirVenture?

Subject: KR> New to the list

Hi group,

I am new to the list. I just purchased a KR2 with retracts. I have
read about the gear collapses, but I am not clear if they are mostly
nose gear, mains, or both. Which is it?

I have already switched my nose gear to fixed. I am not sure if I will
modify the mains until I start flying it, and like it. I am really
cramped and need to move some things around for ergonomics.
