As mentioned on my website, I would delete most of the flying buttress reinforcements and whittle them down to one inch ribs, which I've done on mine, as well as deleting all the silly blocks of wood and the little holders for them (those never actually made it "into production"). Were I to do it again, the bottom would hang over the spars just like the canvas seat shown in the plans, and simply drop into place over the two spars, with downturned flanges front and aft to keep them from pulling loose, and with seat back hinges screwed throught the aft flange into the main spar.
