I don't know if anyone came out with a straight answer but this is what I did. 
and. Should have done.  I left my fuselage on the table upside down with a 
temporary brace just past where the doublers would stop.  I also installed a 
temp brace where the widest point would be.  I then skinned the bottom and 
turned the fuselage before the glue had lots of time to set up. That way the 
glue would form a fillet at the bottom cross members.  I had to remove the temp 
brace at the widest point before installing the top crossmembers and the 
fuselage reshaped itself. This actually went to a shape I could live with.  
Then I had to install a temp brace on the vertical members just below the 
longerons in order to keep the shape I needed while I installed the doublers.  
If I do it again I will install the temporary braces in that same location 
(Fuselage upside down on the table. ) with the braces just off the table by 
about 1.25 inches.  That way I wouldn't have to remove them until the entire 
top crossmembers were complete.
