I have a bunch of pictures of it. It was Jim Faughn's plane. He made a
z-shaped piece of aluminum that he snaps into place when the vent is open
and he wants max flow. It's an excellent idea, and I intend to do something
simlilar, although mine work pretty well as they are when at flying speed.
The reason I need something is to smooth the flow around the vertical member
that they are up against. With nothing there, the air turns 90 degrees and
heads for my thighs. With a piece of duct tape in there to create a curved
inlet, it works great, so I'll build a ramp and a scoop all in one to get
the flow right and scoop in more air. There's a photo of Jim's at
http://www.krnet.org/mvn2005/050909158.jpg and another at
http://www.krnet.org/mvn2005/050909163.jpg. There are several more past the
halfway point of the 2006 Gathering stuff at http://www.krnet.org/mvn2005/
