Are you sure that "18 pin" isn't really a 25 pin D-shell (extremely common) that's only using 18 of the pins to do anything? The 15 pin might be the same way, but 15 pin connectors are also very common. Have you actually seen the connections on the transponder and radio and counted the pin sockets, or are you going by a wiring diagram (which would explain the 18-pin thing)?
