I've used almost the same system for about 10 years now. What I found is
after a year the double sided tape looses some of it's "stickyness" at the
leading edge and then on a pass the gap seal will come loose and fall to
the ground. This makes things interesting for those on the ground who
think something just fell off your airplane, which it did. To fix the
problem I also add a piece of clear packing tape which covers the leading
edge of the gap seal. 1/2 the tape is on the bottom of the wing and 1/2 on
the leading edge of the gap seal. This way you have the gap seal
sandwiched between the double stick tape and the clear tape. This has held
up well and the problem of loosing gap seals never returned.

sided tape. This allows free floating on the aileron. There was no
noticeable difference in the handling characteristics other than the
improved climb performance. Upon takeoff, I could immediately notice the
improvement in performance and when I settled in at 100 MPH indicated, the
proof was in the numbers.
