How come I can disconnect the battery cables and the truck continues to run?
With a "one Wire" Delco alt. you have to excite it to get it to charge but 
once it is it will continue to do so.
  I think the question was about running without a battery or starter.
Would this not be possible if propped and once running excited from an 
outside source ?
It would have to be a nag fired engine and analogue gauges but would this 
not work ?
