Bill You said you would pull the top cover at 50 hours ant then at every 100 hrs. Will you also pull the bearing caps for inspection? I too am glad I pulled my crank out for nitrating. My engine had only 30 minutes run time at 2004 Corvair College and it ran great but when I tore it down I found the crank and bearings gaulded on all crank and main journals. Talked to William about the problem and he suspects metal in the crank oil passages. I cleaned them with carb cleaner but did not use a bore brush in them. This rebuild will be with more attention to detail. I'm glad I caught it now because I may have ended up like Dan and Jerry, ready to fly but then faced with a engine rebuild.
