I just updated http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/fuel/ to explain, although I 
don't have a picture of the timer.  The update is about midway down the 
page.  The timer is about 2"x2"x.75" and weighs just about nothing.  I'll 
make a picture of it next time the front deck is off the plane and put it on 
that page.

I should mention that this timer is way overdue, as I forgot to switch off 
the transfer pump about half the time I used it.  The main tank would fill 
up and become pressurized, forcing fuel out the vent and back into the aux 
tank again.  This would be OK except that under pressure, the tank will leak 
a little around the top where the fuel lines enter, and I'd start smelling 
fuel in the cockpit, which is not a good thing...
