Yes, you've got it.  Due to the differences in the airfoil shape, the rear 
spar is almost in the correct place anyway.  I think either way is fine. 
The templates for the AS5046 are set up for either way, so whatever's 
easiest for you.  I'll bet there's no measureable difference, except perhaps 
in visibility over the cowling, and you can get one degree closer to a full 
stall landing without hitting the tailwheel first.  The horizontal stab 
isn't "theoretically perfect", but neither is Troy Petteway's KR2, and his 
is the fastest KR I know of...
