Maybe my mileage isn't the same. I began construction 15 or so years ago. I started with the first batch of T88 taking 4 or 5 scrap pieces from the same wood used in the project, cut the same way (my mistakes), and glueing them with the last bit of the T88 mixture. After curing for 2-3 days lying next to the project, I either put them in a vice or test them with a hammer. All but 1 setup broke the wood before the glue. At the point where I started glassing the tail surfaces, I got the West system and the pumps that go with it. On glas it worked perfectly. I then tried a glue up on the wood mockup of the belly brake. I didn't do something right because some light duty hanger rash sent the mockup to the dump. The T88 has a non-critical mix. You can also mix very small batches if you miss the mark. The West System you need to measure carefully. The pumps are set for a fairly large batch when gluing (an incredibly small batch when glassing something like a wing). I have had batches of West go thermal on me but never the T88. My opinion is T88 for wood/wood joints. I can't vouch for other chemistry.
Paul Derry NH Damn has it realy been 15+ years???
