Take it for what it is worth.  I made a very hard landing 2 times with my
retracts, one was so hard it took the aileron off.  If you have the right
shear pins on the gear, like the mod that came through the web/newsletter,
remember my plane is 22 years old.  I thought the same thing try the gear to
see if I like them...... and yes I like them, and I'm going to keep them.
It is not a matter of cost because I have already bought the new gear.  I
don't need them.
