Steve, I thought that the flox to the spar was just so you would be sure that you had complete contact with the surface of the spar. It is bolted to the spar and I don't think that any amount of "floxing", will keep the brackets from falling off. One good jolt and that contact would be broken if it were not for the bolts. So, if I were doing it, I would just be sure that I had a good bed of flox between the bracket and the spar and tighten it on down.
