I plan to do the same, using the thinner size (1/16") . I have never seen
Fiberfrax. What does it look like? Is it compressible?

I used fiberfrax from Wicks
http://www.wicksaircraft.com/catalog/product_cat.php/subid=665/index.html
and glued it down with its glue, along with the stainless sheet. I used 6
small stainless screws to hold the sheet
metal flush until the glue cured.
