What little I know about them is that the engines are BASICALLY the same. The GPU's generally had a single mag ignition and some of the accessories may be different or absent. Single mag ignition would probably mean a single plug head, etc. Others more knowledgeable will, I'm sure, add to this. A great many of them have been modified to serve in aircraft use but unless you know what you're doing, you won't get an "aircraft engine" without some work / expense. Larry Flesner
