The Grove gear is 59" not including the axles so probably more like 66" or
so track. Diehl is not much, if any less. You may have a Sonerai gear
which is about 50" less the axles. Landings would certainly be easier if
you could widen the gear. You may be able to use Grove gear with your
existing brackets.

Subject: KR> Gear width/crosswind

Flying my KR-2 t/d and the crosswind landings are very exciting to say the
least. I purchased the plane used and the gear is very narrow. The gear is
bolted to the mainspar on the inside of the fuse right under your legs and
is probably nearly 4.8 ft wide in track. What effect would the plane have
if they were moved out to the stubs in the normal area. The plane flies
great but landings are very exciting even without a crosswind component.
Any suggestions or advice?
