Some folks will use deck cloth which is a very lightweight fabric applied the same as you would fiberglass cloth. However, that is, in my opinion an unnecessary step. When you prime the fuselage for paint, that will seal the exterior wood of the fuselage as will the paint itself. On the interior of the fuselage, use Helmsman (?)polyurethane spar varnish to seal the wood. It can be bought at virtually any store that sells paint. I know Home Depot has it.
