I hope Jeff Scott chimes in here since he's an A&P and knows small
Continentals inside and out (literally), but the one thing I've learned from
the A-65 on my Pietenpol is that on most of them, the oil pump will lose
prime if the engine sits for anything more than about a week, and it's
tricky to get it going again if it has any amount of wear (and most of them
do). You obviously don't want to run your engine without oil pressure!

Plenty of small Continental tips and tricks at the Sacramento Sky Ranch
website (for example, item no. 20 at http://www.sacskyranch.com/eng26.htm ),
but also some very good ones from Harry Fenton on the FlyBaby site, at
http://www.bowersflybaby.com/tech/fenton.htm#a65_oil_prime . A wealth of
information on small Continentals on that site!
