See, my woodworking experience is in laminate
cabinets. We use 80 tooth blades for ripping sheets of
laminate, not in miter saws.

Again, see above.  In my world, we use 36 tooth blades
for ripping MDF because 80 tooth blades clog. 36 tooth
works good for particle board, too.

We always use staplers..  :-)   Then again, we do sand
for a smooth finish with the contact cement.

Cool...I have a few of those.  I use carbide tips...is
that ok or should I be using steel?
