As part of the rebuilding effort on my KR2, I decided to rebuild 4 of the
front WAFs. Two because they have an oversize hole at the WAF-to-WAF
junction, and being a former Army officer, I like uniformity. Two because
they have been shortened a bit to accomodate the long range fuel tanls in
the wing roots, and I have the same prejudice.

Anyway, since the holes in the spars are already made, I had little choice
but to replicate the holes from the previous WAFs. Then came the surprise.
The previous WAFs were slightly oversize in width, and my 4130 steel
strips (bought from Aircraft Spruce) are slightly undersized in width.
Result: the bolt holes are now pretty close from the sides, leaving only a
thin wall. Not looking too nice.

Beware, then, if you make your WAFs yourself. Check the tolerances on the
sides before you drill.
