I too agree with Dan that Sept should be eliminated. Why have we not
spoken of early Spring when everyone is excited about good flying
weather after long dreary winter. Some of the best flying weather I have
experienced has been early Spring. Just a thought. Let's all chip in
their ideas and see what the consensus is.

Subject: KR> Gathering Date

I believe that better weather is available during the month of October
and
over the years have heard many comments about the poor weather
conditions
during the month of September. I have now flown to 4 gatherings and
this
was the first time that I was able to go to and from the gathering
without
incident. However, it was not without great concern as we had just had
the
worst hurricane in my lifetime and were being threatened by another one
that
is still sitting off the coast. We had to check often each day to be
sure
that we would be able to get back home and never knew if we were going
be
able to stay for the duration of the gathering.

I do not understand how it can possibly be the general consensus that we
continue to have this event during one of the worst times of the year
for
flying. I have always thought that this should be open for debate but
it
has always been dictated and that is something I also do not understand.

General consensus was to hold the 2006 Gathering in late September,
probably the last weekend, but I'll wait to get input from anyone
interested in e-mailing me at my e-mail address above with their input.
