I've just been on the sidelines but I have to mention that I would like
to have a safe flyin. I think I've helped host 5 of them and I worry
each year about what people actually do while they are flying. I've
already watched a person die in his KR at Oshkosh then have to fly
around his crash site while the fire trucks and emergency crews arrived
using me as their reference point. Then in Covington where I was hosting
a KR Gathering, I've been called when a KR crashed into a tree on final
because he was low killing the pilot and injuring his wife. I really
enjoy flying my plane but I really hope we just shoot the breeze, make
some missed approaches at appropriate speeds and LIVE to have a good
time at the Gathering. Marti is a friend of mine and I'm actually happy
that we won't be having Marti buzz the field this year. Please consider
that nobody has to take his place!

Simple thoughts from an old KR guy that wants everyone to be SAFE!
