As has been pointed out several times before on this list, Pledge furniture polish (lemon or otherwise) contains silicones. It is reported that if you use silicones on surfaces you intend to paint, you will have problems. This goes for "Son-Of-A-Gun", "Armor-All", and other such products. Even if the paint adheres to the surface, you'll get fisheye and other problems that are nearly impossible to resolve.
