I had some that were about 1/8 X 1.  My ballance weights were right up to
the aft spar and tear drop shaped so most of the weight was by the aft spar.
Mine were easily less than half the weight of Jim's because his are on
fairly short arms.  The closer to the spar you can get them the better.

Ours are 2 X 4 X 1/8.  I believe that is what Jim Faughn had that broke.
That does not mean that they will all break.  Your aluminum is 1/4".  I
really don't think that will break, but your results will vary.
