Another option would be copper in the same size for a few inches, with a
union joining up to the original Nylaflow.  The copper would dissipate heat
pretty quickly, so by the time it got to the union, it wouldn't be a hazard.
This kind of stuff won't happen in the future, because you won't be doing
much braking after you're flying.

Good luck, and stay out of the ditches.  In a few weeks you'll be wondering
what all the fuss is about...
