Firstly, I have a KR2 which is in theory more sensative than the KR2S.

My KR2 is not difficult to fly, it is just different to fly. It is more
sensative than any powerd plane I've flown to date, and more enjoyable.

I only had about 23 power hours when I flew my KR2 BUT I had 200+ hours gliding
(I had 1 flight in a tricycle KR2 15 months prior to my first flight)

My 17 year old daughter has no experiance at all (her 2 flights in gliders she
has been sick and hasn't taken the controls). On her first flight, in the KR2,
it took about 15 minutes for her to get smooth enough to maintain altitude and
do mild turns left and right (10-15 degrees bank only), I was verbally coaching
her, telling her what to do and how, the ball wasn't centred too often but then
who cares to start with. She enjoyed it enough to read the BAK VFR study guide
and wants to go again.

It will take some time (more than you expect) to get compent enough to fly it
solo but don't let that detter you. Get an experianced KR pilot to help with
your conversion training (obviously you must get your tail dragger endorsement
prior to getting in your KR2).

Main thing is to know your limits

Where do you live?

  Hi All

I have been looking to purchase a KR2S this last few weeks and have come
across one that I would like to place an offer on.I am presently doing my
PPL and will finish this in 6 weeks(will trailer it home in 3 weeks
time, hoping). I realize that I will not be flying it after my license as I
will be looking for someone to train me a lot more on tail draggers and the
KR2S.It's been sold as the original owner has lost his medical.

  My questions are this:

Is this an aircraft for someone with a number of hours of experience or
would you recommend it can be flown with someone with low hours?

A pilot informed me today that they are not that easy to fly and are highly
prone to spin outs.(thought this would be true of all tail draggers).

What will I need to look for when looking at the KR2S?(what areas.ect)

Looking forward to hearing everyone's comments and advice..
