I'm not much of an engine mechanic but I'm amazed how rough and engine can seem with a single cylinder randomly missing. I once flew a C172 ( 6 cylinder) that would randomly miss and it felt like the entire airframe was shaking. It turned out to be a single plug wire (one of 12). >From there I'd make a giant leap and say check ignition. Wires, plugs for fouling, distributor, coil, etc........... Larry Flesner
