Netters, I am one frustrated individual. The list of people on this site who have helped me before is very long. As some of you know, or at this time most of you know that I have an older KR, built 20 years ago. The plane has not flown or for that matter been assembled in 18 years. Well it is at the airport and now that I have a new Starter from Great planes, it appears that it still does not want to run. The history of the motor is that I received the motor 1 1/2 years ago, fully rebuilt. I have kept it well oiled during that time. Now for the problem. Those of you with a VW will probably be the best people to help me. The motor has a mag and elec. ign. The Mag has been timed per G/P and the VW manual. The mag clicks a TDC. The #1 plug was removed and there is a spark, weak but a spark. The plugs have been tested by the local A & P and are all good. Our thought was fuel, so we adjusted the carb to rich. One maybe two pops on the motor. We put fuel directly into the cylinders, and nothing. We tried Ether into the intake. Noting. Now the bad news. I do have posa carb. I know people can't get to idle, but I can't get it to start. I pulled the mag off the plane and will run it past the A&P on Monday. Do any of you have any ideas?
