Hello my friends. I just thought I would pass along some food for thought. I 
am currently working on a good friend of mines airplane Getting it back into 
airworthiness status, and something happened yesterday that was really kind of 
funny. Well, we are currently changing the engine out to a Revmaster 2100 that 
was made back in 1982, but has no time on it. He told me that he wants to 
change the oil, prelube the cylinder walls, check the plug gaps, and check the 
valve clearances. All of witch is good precautionary maintenance since the 
engine has not ran since 1982. But when I told him we would change out the Oil 
filter he about had a heart attack. He presided to tell me that the filter was 
brand new and did not need to be changed. Well, I told him that it was brand 
new 
back in 1982, and was now 23 years old and needed to be changed. But he did 
not want to here of it. Well, being that I am the A&P signing off his plane we 
will change the filter, if I have to buy it myself. I probily will to, but I 
will stand my ground on this one.
     But the reason I write this is to ask each every one of you to check and 
double check your work. Ask yourself, is that glue aviation grade? or the 
cheapest you can buy.
 Is that bolt the proper bolt for that application? Or is it the best The 
hardware store had.
 Is the wood you buy the best you can get?
It is up to each and every one of us to build, Maintain, and fly a good safe 
aircraft that we can be proud of.
 My A&P instructor had a saying, If there is DOUBT! There is no DOUBT!
