I got carpet from my local upholstry shop.  It was not approved for
aircraft, but it did meet other standards and I made sure that it did not
burn.  They also did the occasional aircraft and could order the approved
materials.  You will probably find a shop or two that does the occasional
airplane if you call around your local shops and might just find one with
some left over materials.
