Netters, It's been a while since I posted any progress. I've been busy building. After the Gathering in September, I returned and got busy on the tail feathers. I have everything but the VS ready for finish sanding. Click here to see a pic http://www.geocities.com/djramccoop1/HS_19.JPG.
On a minor note, I finished my seat back. I used 0.50" last-o-foam glassed on both sides and hinged to my one piece carbon seat. The whole thing slips right out. I got this idea from Bill Clapp. Also, I cut the seat back to make a 1/3 - 2/3 split back so part can act as a map holder/arm rest/cup holder when flying solo. See the pic at http://www.geocities.com/djramccoop1/Seat_15.JPG. Lastly, I have spent the last 2-3 weeks working on my canopy. I started with a stock KR2 Canopy frame. I "flattened" it to make more head room and added 4.25" risers on each side to raise the canopy to fit me. Then, I took Mark L's hinge design and modified it to mount to the fuselage sides. I am really happy with how this is coming together. Take a look at a few pics at http://www.geocities.com/djramccoop1/Canopy.html. I know it's not finished, but it looked so good, I figured I would share it. :-) I have plenty more pictures, but I just haven't stopped long enough to get them posted to the website. I'm trying to get this thing in the air by the end of 2005. Also, I kept most of my pics indoors to keep from depressing Mark J any more. We've had the most beautiful January weather I can remember; 10 days straight of 75 degree, clear-sky days. (Sorry Mark, I hope you get her in the air soon!) I welcome any comments. Hope all is well out in KR land... Dean Cooper Jacksonville, FL Email me at dean_coo...@bellsouth.net See my KR project at www.geocities.com/djramccoop1/KR2_Home.html
